Tablet Command is the emerging leader as an incident management application for public safety and emergency responders. The iPad app provides an intuitive, easy to use, robust application to public safety first responders for notification, situational awareness and incident management.
Tablet Command Enterprise Service is in use by thousands of fire service professionals spanning 100’s of fire departments across North America. Our premiere users include San Francisco, Stockton, Miramar (FL), San Bernardino County, San Diego City, Denver and San Mateo County.
Tablet Command is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and we work remotely – across multiple time zones. Preferred time zones are Pacific, +/- 1h or Australia (Melbourne), +/- 1h.
The ideal candidate will be required to have remote experience (work from home or freelance/contract) and be located in the following time zones: Pacific Standard Time +/- 1 hour or Australian Eastern Standard Time (Melbourne, Sydney) +/- 1 hour.
The best candidate will have strong communication skills and a passion for mobile development, software engineering and great UX design, as well as an enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn and keep up with new technology and trends.
As a part of a small, collaborative and agile tech team, be a primary contributor to the design and development of new mobile applications and features. Build, test, debug and maintain application software throughout the product lifecycle. Additionally, this position will require a strong internal and external customer service commitment, and the willingness to be responsive to the needs of the team.

Your resume will be reviewed, if selected, you will be scheduled for a first call/interview. During this call, we will discuss your previous experience, and we’ll also have a couple of technical questions. Beyond the first call, you will be expected to develop a small application (specs to be provided). The time expected to build the application is 4 to 5 hours. Based on satisfactory performance in this phase of the process, you will be scheduled for a second call/interview which will include a code review and screen sharing session. If selected, a conditional job offer will be presented that is contingent upon reference and background check.
